“I just used my Nova for the first time yesterday. I had some "closet grown" that had been drying/curing for 6 or 8 months. Smoking a thin joint did give a mild effect so I was curious what would happen if I put some in the Nova and then smoked it. My experience was that it made a profound effect on the resulting buzz.
Without getting into the minefield discussion of how much good stuff literally goes up in smoke as opposed to consuming it, I would suggest that anyone get a Nova or ask someone who has one to decarb a small amount of your stash and test it for yourself.
Once processed in the Nova you don't even have to go through the effort of making edibles but can simply sprinkle some on your food, put in a smoothie or just swallow some. Even though it may be somewhat wasteful to smoke it, old ways die hard.
Before doing some investigating, I was not aware of decarbing because I never made edibles and I thought that simply drying was sufficient to activate the ingredients if you were going to smoke it but the amount of time it spends getting processed by the heat of the flame/ember is not enough to "fully" activate it. Processing in the Nova will more completely activate your product for whatever method of consumption you choose.
I couldn't be happier with the results the Nova has given me. "So So" weed has been transformed to pretty damn good weed, imagine what would happen to really good weed! I suggest that you download the myths about decarb pdf available at their site. The lab results are impressive but the bottom line is my home results proved the Nova made a difference. I tried an oven decarb previously but the pdf will explain why it is not as effective as the Nova.”
