“I tried contacting the company directly. Once I told them that I was not going to be buying another replacement part (this would be the third one), they have not responded back to me at all. They still haven't published my review either. I bought the original watch on August 12, 2020. Had to purchase first replacement part on August 31, 2020 ($11.61). Second replacement part was on June 16 2021 ($21.12). Third replacement part will be $7.50 just for the part alone. Not including shipping, and the company makes you insure the shipping as well. I love the way the watch looks. But I'm tired of replacing parts. Once I asked for my review to be posted, they stopped all communication and have not uploaded my review as of 8/22/21.
Here is the entire email exchange - Original email to Freestyle customer service. I’ve had this watch for 1 year. I love the look, but I have had 3 different parts either break or need to be replaced. The first was the band came detached and the spring bar got lost. So, I bought a replacement spring bar ( you also have to buy the tool to replace the spring bar). Then, the plastic clip/latch broke.. so, I had to buy a replacement band. Then, while swimming at the beach yesterday, part of the plastic on the watch face came right off. I was only swimming! I didn’t hit it on anything at all. I love the way the watch looks, but I’m tired of replacing parts. I’ve got pictures as well but I can’t figure out how to upload them.
Their response - Hi Brian,
I'm so sorry you've had trouble with your watch, I'm happy to help you with that! Would you mind sending a photo of the issue with the watch so we can see what's going on with it and get it sorted out for you?
thanks!
- My response back included picture of broken part –
Their response - Every once in a while the bezel can be broken if it's hit against something hard enough or in the right way, so that is likely the case with yours. The good news is that part is on the outside of the waterproof case, so it is easily swapped out without impacting the water resistance of the watch. It is actually designed to be easily replaceable with a Phillips head screwdriver since it's really there to take the impact and protect the lens from damage and can be easily replaced if it is. You may order the replacement bezel through our spare parts warehouse online order form at Click to Begin Order Process. Click on that link and it will take you to the spare parts ordering process. Please be sure to include the model number from the back of your watch and select Bezel.
My response - Thank you for getting back to me so quickly but, no thanks. This will be the third replacement part in 1 year that I’ve had to order. I think that I’m finished putting money into this watch. I would rather my review just be posted.
Thank you”
