“The scent of this is what I would call 'interesting'. Obviously the base is Aloe, but the other bits I can't quite place. Looking at the list of ingredients shows that this is a standard 'brightening' cream with a couple of herbals thrown in. It goes on easily and absorbs quickly, with the pump-action bottle giving just the right amount each time. The results are exactly what I expected; a slightly more uniform skin texture and reduction in dry areas. Basically, the effects of a good moisturizer. Personally I saw no benefits other than this, but obviously results vary based on skin type. The most I can give this is three stars, and it isn't cheap either.”

“I have been using this cream for a couple of weeks now and I am enjoying how it makes my face/skin feel. The cream has a lovely rich texture to it, with a subtle creamy fragrance. The cream glides on smoothly and it is absorbed easily into the skin, leaving a smooth non greasy feel. I do feel that I can see a reduction to dark areas and my skin looks brighter with a healthy glow to it.”

“Herbal Essentials Brightening Cream with Liquorice Root Extract & Aloe Vera 50ml is a moisturiser I would happily purchase again as I loved the brightening effect it had on my skin after a short period of a week. It softened my skin leaving it feeling silky soft. I love the fact that everything about this brand is natural plus the main point I always assure myself prior to using anything on my skin that the product is not tested on animals. The natural ingredients which are used in the manufacture of this skin product is everything that naturally works on the skin using the natural vitamin rich aloe vera plus the sunflower seed oil works together to improve the clarity of my skin which is evident even after a couple of days usage. There is also natural acting lactic acid which is perfect for exfoliating your skin removing dry patches as well as dead skin cells. Along with the liquorice root extract which is well known for soothing sensitive skin. I love this day cream not only for its natural ingredients it is perfect for my sensitive skin which treats my skin with much needed high-quality ingredients. One thing I would say about this cream is that it is very rich therefore a little goes a long way. A first-class product which I am happy to recommend.”

“I used the moisturiser on my face for about 2 weeks and there were some pro's and con's with it. The pro's were that it absorbed easily into my skin with no residue and left my skin feeling nice and soft. Also as it comes with a pump action rather than a pot then you aren't having to dip your fingers repeatedly into it which is more hygienic. I also liked that it contains natural extracts too. The con's for me were the smell of the cream. It wasn't a particularly appealing scent. It's a bit hard to describe really, it wasn't noticeable after a while but didn't smell great on application.”

“A very pleasant cream. First thing to mention is that you don't need much. I found one pump for my face and one for my neck was sufficient...so 50ml should last a couple of months at least. It absorbs well, with no greasy residue. A very pleasant fragrance...quite fresh. It has calming properties and felt very soothing. The liquorice root and aloe vera certainly does that Has it reduced my lines? Not really...but my skin feels brighter and less tired looking......which is what the cream aims to do. I don't have any age spots yet....so I can't comment on that. But I am nearly 65....so if it prevents them...it would be great!”

“This Herbal Essentials moisturising cream is a good quality daily moisturiser that revitalises tired skin and which overtime may help to fade dark areas and uneven skin tones. This moisturiser comes in a pump action 50ml bottle which makes it easy to dispense. One push of the pump is all that is needed to dispense just the right amount to cover your face and under chin area. This is a lotion rather than a cream and has quite a strong yet pleasant scent. I've been using this moisturiser for just over two weeks and my skin does feel more hydrated and looks brighter and less tired. As for fading/diminishing dark areas it is much too soon to tell how successful this lotion will be. I feel that this lotion is a little overpriced at £27.19 (price correct at the time of this review), however it is a good quality lotion that is a pleasure to use.”
