I like that this company is committed to being cruelty-free, and that their products take out a lot of the nasties like parabens. I also like the natural products which give it a lovely scent. After putting this on, my face felt hydrated and smooth, and I do find it looks a bit more radiant - I can't really say my dark circles have diminished but I feel like they have. I was a little shocked by the price compared to the size of the bottle, but a little does go a long way as other reviewers have mentioned.

Not heard of this product before now but am pleasantly surprised. It has a pleasant subtle fragrance and goes on easily, needing only a small amount. Early days to say how well it performs on the diminishing dark spots but leaves my skin feeling nice and soft.

There's nothing wrong with this moisturiser but high-street brands are so good these days that it would take something really special to persuade me to pay more than double the price of my usual brand. This certainly softens and smoothes as any cream does but there's no noticeable brightening effect as promised. I'm happy to finish this but wouldn't replace it.

I am a fan of Herbal essentials products and this is a lovely brightening cream - hydrating and with a moisturising effect that lasts all day. As other reviewers have noted, a little goes a long way. I can't attest to any long term effects but it certainly has a brightening effect on the skin when applied on a daily basis.

The pump dispenser here is a good idea for controlling how much you use; you don't need more than about 1 full stroke on the button. I found the scent initially rather strong (the liquorice really comes through), but it fades to a floral scent once you massage it into the skin, and it's absorbed well without being too greasy - a few minutes after application and it's soaked in.

Colour me cynical, but unfortunately this seems to me like one of those cosmetic products which is relatively ordinary and everyday, but which has been branded up into a premium and very expensive product in a way that’s not justified. There’s nothing actually wrong with it, for sure. It’s a pale moisturising cream, broadly similar to Nivea’s standard but a little bit thinner and more watery, so the fact the pump gives you small amounts is appropriate. It’s got an aroma that’s fairly strong and quite vanilla-ish. On my skin it doesn’t rub in particularly well, and care needs to be taken to avoid leaving white marks, though that’s part of the point I suppose. The lingering effect on my skin is not particularly visible, there is certainly a faint reduction in redness but in comparison to a regular moisturiser that you can buy in a supermarket for less than a tenner, I really don’t think the visible effect is truly any different. To the touch my skin has a faintly more plasticky feel to it after this cream’s been applied, which is unusual and not particularly pleasant or unpleasant either way really. “Pure Himalayan spring water” really prods at my memories of GCSE Chemistry- if it really is pure water, why does it have to be brought from the Himalayas?- and seems like a victory for new age branding over common sense. Certainly this cream does have some effects, thanks to the oils and gentle acids, but is it really so special that a 50ml bottle is worth over thirty quid (at time of writing)? I’d have to say no.

Although this moisturiser makes my face feel smooth and hydrated I really can't see any difference in the dark areas around the eyes. Maybe this will take a long time to actually work but there is definitely no significant, and certainly no instant dramatic, change in the appearance of my skin other than smoothness.

Prior to reviewing this product I had not heard of the Herbal Essentials brand. Paraben, paraffin and SLS - free, Herbal Essentials is cruelty free and a proud supporter of Ô1% for the PlanetÕ. Herbal Essentials donates 1% of its global sales to the not-for-profit organisation that supports environmental protection. This brightening cream is easy to dispense and you do not need to use a lot. It left my skin feeling soft and not oily. I feel after a week of use my skin tone does appear to be more even and maybe more brighter. A little expensive but you do get what you pay for, excellent product.
