“Herbal Essentials Brightening Cream with Liquorice Root Extract & Aloe Vera is a beautifully scented moisturiser which, when applied around the eyes and temples does give the brightening, more vibrant impression. These areas feel softer too so there is definitely a positive effect. The question of how long this lasts for is a good one though. On inspection a little later there was little appreciative difference either in appearance or smoothness - and so I am left hoping that repeated uses over the course of a couple of months - which I think there is easily enough product for in the 50ml bottle - will give a longer lasting effect. This is a good moisturiser though I balk slightly at the price - there are plenty of more inexpensive ones around. The issue then becomes the extent to which you trust in this brand and the promise of longer lasting results with repeated use.”

“My wife tried this out, and rated it very highly. ÒI was surprised when I saw how small this pack is, but all you need is one pump to cover your whole face; judging by the size of it, I think you have a good three monthsÕ supply. I like the perfume, which has a very light smell, reminiscent of 4711. The product is not too thick, and a little really does go a long way. You can always use more if your skin is dry, but I found that one pump was sufficient for me. It has made my skin smoother and softer and as if lit within, almost luminous; it has evened out my skin tone too. That is with only three applications, so I am really impressed. It soaked into my skin well also with no look or feel of stickiness or greasiness; there is no visible shine, just a kind of glow that even my husband has noticed.Ó”

“This is a lovely moisturiser. I did not see any effect on dark spots and illuminating effect was short lasting but as a moisturiser it was great, It comes in a pump dispenser and puts out just enough cream to use on face, It is lovely to use and is adsorbed into skin. It is thicker and in fact I did check that I was not using a night cream by mistake. It did make my skin feel soft and well hydrated and I really like it”

“This is a very pleasant cream that can be used sparingly as it gives good coverage without being too oily. As with all decent moisturisers, it lifts the complexion when you apply it and the skin reflects more light; but the users in my family can't really attest to anything longer lasting. Liquorice root extracts have been used in traditional Eastern treatments such as ayurveda to lighten skin. If that's what you're after then perhaps prolonged use of this cream might help. However my wife - who is of Indian ancestry - finds that she lightens in UK winter due to lack of sunlight anyway so we couldn't tell whether this was doing anything. Ultimately it's a very expensive way to buy a decent moisturiser.”

“There's nothing particularly magical about this (and it shouldn't be as it's relatively inexpensive) but basically this is a simple luminous cream helping to reflect light in a glossy kind of way and therefore making the area you apply it to a little 'lighter' in colour. However if you wipe it off you will soon lose the effect and over a couple of hours it will be absorbed and become less effective and require reapplication. It still serves as a pretty good moisturiser so it's not all bad or disappointment.”

“A 50ml pump dispenser - you only need 1 pump to get enough lotion for each application - it should last a good 2 -3 months. The lotion is light with a pleasant fresh smell - it absorbs into the skin easily and immediately leaves you skin looking and feeling softer and without any oily shine. After a week of use i havent noticed any major improvement in lines but my skin is more evenly toned and looks less tired. A really lovely lotion that i shall be buying again!!!”

“After using this my face felt moisturised and soft. It takes a few minutes to adsorb fully into the skin and has a nice light fragrance. I like the pump action bottle which means that I can get the exact amount without any waste. I have used this on my face and the backs of my hand. My skin does look a little brighter especially under the eyes but I don`t think that any blemishes have faded but I do like this cream and will carry on using it.”

“A 50ml pump action dispenser containing Herbal Essentials Brightening Cream with Liquorice Root Extract & Aloe Vera. The cream has a thin, light texture and is quickly absorbed into my skin with no signs of stickiness. A few drops is all I need for full face and neck coverage. The blend of key ingredients, Aloe Vera, Sunflower Seed Oil and Lactic acid work together to exfoliate soothe and brighten the outward appearance of the skin and certainly leave my face looking and feeling smooth and clear. I suffer with dry skin that tends to be tight and can redden but; I'm finding an improvement after a few days. The cream gives off a sweet, delicate fragrance and I'm finding Herbal Essentials Brightening Cream a lovely product.”
