“I want to like these but I just don't. Firstly they are not wide enough for my feet, despite being the wider style. Second, they have an annoying ridge across the upper half of each insole. Third, I don't like the material used for the insole, it's not comfortable. And fourth, the rubber of the outer sole was a bit of a mess like it had seen a fair bit of use despite being new. Maybe it was a return, which was what I did with them. The sole is thick enough to be comfy but the other factors prevent that.”

Hi Craig, Sorry you were not happy with your purchase. The insoles have been designed with the ridge behind your toes to assist holding your foot in the shoe if you choose to use the shoe as a mule with the fold flat heel. We do offer a selection of insoles with various materials, but we are sorry to hear that you did not get on with the leather version contained with this shoe. Regarding the worn look the Classic shoes have a fabric that has a stone washed finish that offers the effect of a worn in shoe look straight out of the box. There are other fabrics that offer a cleaner look and will maintain their appearance through wear, you may also find the synthetic fabrics a better fit as they are designed to stretch so they may offer you more space in the shoe if you are struggling for width. “Great pair of shoes, really comfortable, really light (I'm not sure if that's a good thing to be so light it makes them seem a bit insubstantial). Overall I'm really pleased as I have severe arthritis and have real problems obtaining footwear but these are very forgiving.”
