The "fact" about the study done by Loughborough Uni discovering that "people who are given standing desks spend less time sitting" is a bit of an obvious observation. And doesn't add anything to the course consider finding a study that actually found something out.

The images supporting the course work showing 'ergonomic setups' are not ergonomic. The main one showing correct positioning is truly awful - the lady is sat way too low - on a seat far too shallow and the backrest is not adjusted to support her. I am disappointed that throughout the use of chair armrests is not seen as important - correct arm support is vital when seated for extended periods - and should be encouraged - the use of the desk for arm support as you describe causes pain in the wrists - the content seems very dated - and the disability section is at best insulting to anyone with a disability not in a wheelchair! In regards to seated position - hips should always be slightly higher than the knees to allow the weight of the body to transfer away from the lower back/pelvis - Nothing useful in regards to desk height and how to combat the changes depending on the height of the person you are assessing. Yeah - pretty poor and it is no wonder DSE assessors are getting things wrong - when this is the standard of training they have available.
