“There didn't seem to be much about actually finding needles / or a needle, in public bins, in parks, in shrub beds, on pavements etc. And then taking the sharps bin to the needle in that kind of scenario. Most of us are mobile in vans or on push barrows, so we all have a sharps bin kept safe in a secure place in our vehicle (so all this stuff about don't keep or store your sharps bin / box on the floor is a bit non applicable to us). An example of what various needles or syringes you might find (actual pictures, because there are many), would be a massive help to staff. I am a street cleaner and don't work in the medical world. This course seemed to be based on workers who use needles on patients / clients etc. We don't do that as street cleaners. We find syringes in all kinds of weird places where you might not expect. This should be included.”
