I don't think I will ever be in the position to recruit someone so it is all a bit pointless for me.

It would have been more useful if geared towards education. I don't hire or undertake performance reviews of staff.

This training really did not have a large degree of relevance to my job as a schoolteacher.

It was well put together and it really helped to have audio as well as visual. The only thing I would say is that although the principles need to be applied to any work situation, it would have been more accessible if more work environments had been used in the examples. School/educational environment, care environment, self - employed, religious based employment. Plus surely there are other environments where unconscious bias is in play and therefore unhelpful - parenting, relationships, families etc - could these have been included as examples where unconscious bias needs addressing? Of course this course can't cover everything, but perhaps these are the main areas where this needs addressing, so that in the work place people are already aware of this in themselves and more prepared to work on it? I also felt that although in an ideal world it would be great to be able to hold each other accountable for our biases, I felt this was an unrealistic goal without including ways of actually enabling that to happen within not just a working environment, but also any other environment we live in.

- the overuse of 'unconscious bias' in the script became wearing. - interestingly, the script was read by one voice only, with a classic RP accent - no diversity there, and playing to the widespread assumption that RP = well-educated, well-informed. I have no problem with the lass who had the job of reading it out - bless her for narrating such dull content with such professionalism - but the contrast of a single voice to the message of the piece was striking. Wouldn't a diversity of voices retain attention better?! I'd have really enjoyed hearing a strong Brummy accent. - I think the difference between prejudice and bias is less distinct than the multiple choice questions imply. Fortunately my pass wasn't affected by my blunder on these questions, but would have been miffed if I'd have had to wade through it all again. Many thanks for reading.

Course seemed to be aimed at recruiters. None of your photographs were of people older than 40!
