“I think the training could do more to acknowledge how overstretched services are. The lack of support for parents of children with SEND was mentioned briefly in a video, but otherwise the training assumes that we live in a perfect world where services are always available. We all know this is not the case, and that this has a huge impact on children and families. E.g. in the slide on parental mental health - many parents may have unmet mental health needs, not because they are not seeking support, but because mental health services are at breaking point.”

“I would like to feedback on the 'Prevent' section of the course. 1. You include a picture of a mosque under the 'controversial classroom topics' further resources web page with no context or caption. 2. You list anti-semitism as a specific form of discrimination, while in the same sentence listing 'religious discrimination'. Anti-semitism is a form of religious discrimination - at no other point do you mention Islamophobia or other forms of discrimination such as far-right extremism or transphobia. These things may be unintentional, but if you are not including statistics and case studies of specific hate groups and discrimination in the UK, I would remove these references to reduce 'unconscious' bias as they are leading and potentially influencing people to think about certain groups of people, during certain topics, at certain times in the course. All forms of discrimination are equally as important for people to be aware of, so either mention a broader range of examples or none.”
