I found some of the questions at the end quite frustrating. For me there wasn't enough detail in the scenario to work out why i was there and what i was doing to encounter the asbestos and therefore come up with the correct answer. i think the most irritating question was something like - 'what do you do when you encounter asbestos' - probably the most simple question! in my line of work we arent allowed to touch asbestos at all - we are instructed to have it removed by a contractor. So when i clicked on that option 'have it removed by a contractor' and it was wrong i was pretty confused. the correct answer was something like ' go and look at the risk assessment or update it' i cant quite remember. Either way, if you are going to word questions using the minimal amount of info, make the answers have more contrast between them because getting a contractor in to remove it is a perfectly logical option to pick. or maybe elaborate on the scenario more. I was also frustrated (rightly or wrongly i dont know) by your use of the terms Lowest and Highest Friability rating. Non friable and friable are simple terms that crop up on the internet in every article. i still havent been able to find anything, apart from your course, which uses these terms. 'highest' and 'lowest' ratings are interpreted differently in terms of good and bad. It was ambiguous for me.

Hello Owain, I hope you are well, and thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you did not like the course! While having asbestos removed by a contractor is an appropriate action in many cases, it's not always necessarily the first one. Perhaps on a building site where old structures are being demolished that would be a good first action, but a duty holder carrying out a risk assessment in a building currently being occupied, for example a school or an office, may identify the location of asbestos but it is actually safer to leave it undisturbed and there is no immediate need to remove it which is why we would advise always checking the risk assessment and going from there. The term friability is used to describe the tendency that a solid material has to break into smaller pieces and release fibers when it is rubbed, touched, knocked etc. Materials that are high friability have a greater tendency to release these fibers when disturbed, which means they pose a greater risk to peoples health which is why we have used this term. We are soon to review this course with our specialist so we will be keeping all the feedback we've had from customers in mind including this one in the future! I hope this helps, but should you need anything else, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. All the best! Ellie (Customer Support, High Speed Training)
