“I purchased a set of 4SAS7 plates during the Black Friday madness after seeing a number of reviews (and video) on ar15.com. I spoke with Mike at HighCom several days after placing my order (to confirm reception of my documents) and was given updated shipping timeframes due to the overwhelming response to their sale. The plates showed up, safe and sound, just a few days afterwards (earlier than the timeframe Mike had given me).
My initial impression is that they're of excellent quality. Nicely wrapped and finished. I purchased a full cut and a shooter's cut 10x12, both single curve. The full cut fits the rear of my Banshee perfectly. It's very close to 10x12--Virtually no wiggle at all. The shooter's cut is noticeably smaller, top to bottom and side to side. It's closer to 9 1/4 x 11 1/4. There's obvious play when I just put the plate in the front of the carrier. As such, I'll need to shim the front plate a bit to ensure it stays in place to cover my vitals. No problems shouldering a rifle.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I need to get used to wearing a fully loaded carrier since my loadout is over 32lbs. I hope I never need 'em. However, I feel much better knowing I'll be well protected should the need arise.”
