“I purchased this helmet for on-duty use after an active shooter situation in which my department responded. High-com not only responded to my wmails quickly, but provided over the top customer service.
The only mark against this helmet as an entry-level kevlar is the padding and spray on style paint/hardcoat. But other padding aolutions are readily available and a new paintjib is easy. I rate it 4 stars and will recommend this product to the rest of my Department.”
Hi Francisco, Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with our helmet. Please be aware that we use a military waterborne polyurethane CARC paint. It is a hardened chemical paint mix but has specific benefits for tactical equipment. Since it is flat paint it is susceptible to scratches that are more noticeable that if we used something with a sheen to the topcoat finish of the paint. Chemical Agent Resistant Coating or CARC paint is specified for use on tactical military equipment, including ground, aviation, munitions and related support equipment. It is used for the ability to withstand the harsh chemicals used in the decontamination process. CARC is a non-absorbent material that prevents dangerous chemicals from being absorbed into the coating and potentially damaging the product. In the event of a chemical attack on military tactical equipment and vehicles, it will be necessary to decontaminate vehicles and equipment. Because damaging chemicals will not be absorbed by the CARC camouflage, it will be much easier to neutralize and sanitize the affected equipment.
