HIPLOK JAW - WALL BIKE RACK Reviews

3.9 Rating 16 Reviews
I used to hang a couple of bikes on hooks, but as these were tricky to use and the protective rubber was wearing off, I decided to look for something better. I found these Hiplok Jaws and I'm very happy with the result. It's so much easier not having to lift the bike onto a hook, and the grip is surprisingly strong. A couple of provisos: You really have to decide which bikes you are going to put where. Whilst the adjustment for different tyre widths is fairly easy, if the bikes are different sizes there's nothing you can do other than move the jaw. My road bike and my wife's hybrid are both adult size bikes, but the road bike is much shorter so the Jaw has to be mounted lower in order to work. For me, that wasn't an issue but it's something to bear in mind. I've found hanging bikes with mudguards on is a bit trickier. We have a plastic mat underneath the bikes to catch any drips, and the back of the mudguard can catch on this. I'm sure I will quickly develop the right technique for this and, of course, for most of the year my road bike doesn't have any mudguards on. I felt the standard price was a bit high. Fortunately, Hiplok had a two for one offer, which was perfect for me as I wanted two Jaws.

I was a little unsure about these at first, but once I got one unpacked and saw how they worked I thought they were an ingenious solution. Basically they are fully customisable for the width of wheel you need to accommodate. You can also move the “centre” laterally left or right a couple of inches, which can be handy if you need to squeeze in multiple bikes. One minor consideration is that if you’re using these for kids’ bikes, kids might struggle to lift the bike front wheel to the required height. Apart from this, they are great, and I now have three installed in the shed.

The hiplok jaw works brilliantly at holding skis in place as well as bikes.

Needed bike racks for my kids' bikes and a friend recommended this. Same rack fits all bikes so looks nice and uniform. Easy to get bikes in and out. This won't stop your bike being stolen but that's not what it's for. Really sorted my bike storage out. Would recommend.

I ordered 4 of these items on a 2 for one offer. The first arrival was just 2 items which was a packaging mistake from Hiplok. One phone call sorted it out and the other two items arrived 4 days later. So other than the initial problem Hiplok handled it very well.

Felt compelled to write this after reading all the negative reviews. It’s a great bit of kit and it works exactly as I expected. Easy to install with good instructions.

Bought 4 of these for my e-bikes. They can’t handle the weight even without the batteries. Any slight pressure they unclip and your bike falls off the wall. If the tyre twists at all when clipped in it presses on the release clips and the bike fall out. Poor design.

Thanks for leaving us a review and providing your feedback, we'll certainly take this on board. The JAW is not designed to be weight bearing, it's designed just to store the bike so the rear wheel should always rest the ground. We're sorry if this was not clear.
