“I bought a Z LOK COMBO to secure my helmet to my motorbike on a recent tour of Italy.
The first time I used it was at Misano whilst I went to watch MotoGP. When I returned to my bike the lock would not open. I was convinced I had entered the correct code but, as I’d registered for code reminders, I emailed Hiplock and requested assistance. Sadly it was Saturday so all I got was an out of office reply.
Thankfully I had a Gerber Multi-tool with me. The saw blade went through the lock strap within a few minutes. I’m glad it did but also disappointed. I received the emailed code reminder the following Tuesday.
Upon emailing Hiplock I was quickly refunded.
I’m impressed with Hiplock, impressed with my DX1000, but won’t replace the Z LOK COMBO like for like.
The only other comment I’d make is I’d have found the lock easier to use if it was a few inches longer.”

“The combination lock would not open despite entering the correct code I set. In the end I had to force the lock using my bike multi-tool which I keep handy. Within 10mins the lock was disabled and I was able to retrieve my bike. Not a good experience - but the police were very understanding (i was able to prove the bike was mine having keys to the other locks I use)”
