“I ordered these as a gift for my husband. Some of the glasses I was comparing to from other retailers were cheap with thin glass and visible seams. These glasses are thick and sturdy and have a good heft to them. Exactly what I was looking for and arrived when expected!”
“This is a well-made (not a cheap knock-off) mug. It has a nicely polished finish and comfortably rounded handle. The permanent stamp on the bottom shows that it was made in France. I have a less expensive one from China and there really is no comparison in the quality. In addition, this one is larger. I was also really impressed with the packing. The enclosed card reads Packed with Care By Antonio." Well Antonio really went overboard to ensure that there was no way the mug could get damaged in shipping. Well done! I'm really pleased with this purchase and would recommend HomeWetBar.com to anyone who wants a great product at a fair price.”
“For its intended purpose, this product is excellent. Stylish, solid (won't easily tip), comfortable to hold and to drink from. Identical, as far as I can tell, to ones used in British pubs when I visited. Because I have strong positives associated with the style, from a college choir tour of England in 1970, I bought several and may use some as pencil and pen holders, or display them on a living room or den shelf.”
“These were purchased as a gift for my father-in-law to augment what had been lost to breakage in a 50 year old set of the same design. We've purchased other styles of mugs for the same purpose over the years because we couldn't find the barrel design locally. The in-laws kept and used those other ones, but it was a compromise. Besides the mis-matched style, most other mug styles have a deep indent on the bottom which results in an annoying puddle of water forming when placed in the dishwasher.
This year we decided to do it right" and find some identical replacements if possible. I figured I'd have to find them used but was very pleased to see this style was still in production. Be forewarned that most online vendors sell this mug from a "made in Mexico" source. I'm not sure of the quality of those but the country of origin is prominently stamped on the handle. For those of us who appreciate the quality of the old stuff it's a bummer to always end up having to accept buying something from a low-wage country just because there are usually no other options today. Well I'm happy to report that Home Wet Bar still sells the real deal made in Europe (France) merchandise. These were a huge hit with the recipient and almost a perfect match to those old survivors. Obvious quality and at a great price too. How can you go wrong?”
“Bought these as a gift for my son's birthday. After hunting on the web for just this style, I came across these. I was a bit hesitant as others I had seen were made in China and had received poor reviews. I could not find where these were made, I called Home wet bar to see if I could find out. They were extremely accommodating and went to great lengths to help answer my question. MADE IN FRANCE. My son was very pleased and proclaimed them just what he wanted.”
