“I love the design and form factor of this; the initial premise of the glass and rolling ice ball just struck me. I wouldn't use this with TOP, top quality scotch (never put that on ice, 'tis a sin!) but for anything along medium grade that needs just a little dilution and chill, this is perfect.
The swirling ice globe looks cool, feels cool, and...physically cools. While the ice mold doesn't always form a perfect globe, a few minutes in the alcohol and it'll melt into a round enough shape to roll.
I had been warned that the glass would be too thin, but I was pleasnantly surprised to find it was of sufficient thickness. I wouldn't be overly rough when rolling the ice ball though; but then again one shouldn't manhandle their scotch to begin with.
Getting the name initial engraving is completely worth it. A unique gift like this deserves to be made even more distinct.
