HI Mark,Thank you for your review.We would like to reassure you that we use stainless steel screws in all of our Retractable Hose Reels. Thankfully these will not easily corrode or rust as ordinary steel does.The brown residue on your hose reel is unfortunately a result of insects such as wasps nesting in the screw holes.
