“We absolutely love this roof top tent. Its comfortable, super easy to setup and only slightly adjusted fuel mileage compared to soft top roof top tent. We lost about 2 10th of a MPG on the highway and that's with wind deflector. We love this tent!! Our family of four sleeps comfortably and soundly knowing we are on top our vehicle. Waking up in the mornings and enjoying the sights out of our windows has been fantastic. It is rather large and heavy, but we still frequent many off road obstacles and have yet to have a problem. Love this tent!”
“We recently went on a camping trip to Usal beach campground. It’s a primitive site where you camped close to the Pacific ocean. First and foremost, i love rooftop tents, we had a different one before but the kids are growing and it became too small for us. Last May we finally decided to purchase this product. I couldn’t sleep for a while thinking of how expensive this product was but then you know what?! It was all so worth it! I never regretted buying it for my family because like what i’ve said, during our most recent camping trip to the coastal area, its strength and durability was tested and proven. It was horribly windy the night we were there, we could hear the waves crashing, and oh boy, the wind was too strong i felt that we were going to be blown away by it! Indeed, the tent lived up to its expectation, we were safe and we had a good night sleep despite the strong wind and the tent remained as good as new. Wow! And that is the reason why i paid so much. Thank you for this product! We love it very much! Not only the space but most of all the strength and durability is the best! #lovepeoplelovenature”
“We ordered and paid for a iKamper Skycamp 2.0 (4 person tent) in February. It was delivered a few weeks later. When we got around to putting it on the roof of our 4Runner we found that it was the Skycamp 2X. Fortunately, there was little issue with returning the wrong tent that the company had delivered and they delivered the correct tent in April. When we put this tent up we noticed that the "iKamper" logo had been spray painted black. Unfortunately it appears to have been done with a different finish to the Rocky Black finish on the rest of the shell. For a roof top tent that costs $4000+, this has been somewhat of a disappointment. I set a query to the company several weeks ago to find out if the logo had been damaged, if this was a factory second or what the significance of a blacked out logo means, but I have had no response. At this point, we are not inclined to return the second tent. We have not found any other issues to suggest that it is faulty in any other way other than cosmetically.”
“Easy to set up. packing it up is fairly easy.. leaving 2 sleeping bags in there makes it a bit more difficult to close. A lot of condensation builds up in the cold. The skycamp 2.0 is very spacious. Sleeps me my wife and 2 year old comfortably. Mattress is a bit firm for my liking, but still comfortable.”
“I love the convenience of stopping and popping up the Roof Top Tent! It fits perfectly on the new 2 door Rubicon and can go places where you'd not dream of towing a trailer, but fits in well beside the Airstream as well! My wife loves being off the ground away from the critters, and the consistency of always having a great sleepimg surface. A double-wide sleeping bag completes the setup. Annex is awesome for gettimg dressed or just lounging. Kids sleep down in the annex as well, so accomodates a family of five easily! Love the new toughened black finish as well for jeeping in the outback - very durable so far.”
“This tent is everything as advertised! Super fast, easy set-up, high quality materials and construction. If you are looking for a rooftop tent then this is the best I have found.”
“Overall it is a great camper with lots of space and easy set up. The closing is more difficult than advertised and the metal rods that hold out the vestibule are easily misshapen.”
“We eagerly awaited our Skycamp for quite awhile. I grew up hunting and camping, but my wife never really had. I have taken it out on hunting trips and we recently took it camping. My wife and I slept as well as we do in our be at home. Very comfortable, spacious, and breathes/ventilates well. Easy setup. I did have some trouble closing it once or twice if I had all the accessories inside, but not big deal. Very well thought out. I wish the mattress was a little thicker, but I am a big guy (6'4", 230) and like a relatively soft mattress. I have it on a Gobi Stealth roof rack on top of a 2008 Toyota Sequoia. No wind noise on the highway. Because of the low profile of the roof rack and the lights, it was somewhat hard to mount, but doable.”
