“My artist had recommended the Hush gel to me to use because I was preparing to sit for a 6 hour tattoo. I was very excited to try it because it says it works for up to 2 hours. When the gel was delivered the pamphlet it came with said it lasts 90 minutes. For me it only lasted about 45 minutes which was a little disappointing. While the gel was working I felt nothing but the vibration from the tattoo machine, so that was cool. I’m not sure if I would recommend it because it didn’t last very long and it was on the expensive side. But I will say that my sister also ordered this product, as well as the numbing spray and after cream, and used it for her tattoo. She said it worked fine so it might just vary person to person. That was my experience. It may or may not work or last as long as advertised but everyone’s body is different so that’s something to keep in mind when buying.”

Thank you for sharing your honest experience with HUSH. You are completely right in saying everyone is different and that is especially true when it comes to pain tolerance and receptiveness of a numbing agent.
We recommend using our gel and spray for this reason. The spray helps maintain and strengthen the effects of the gel once they begin to wear off.

“Put it on about an hour before the tattoo and it'll help with the pain especially for the first 1-2 hours. At first I layered it too thin that was a mistake. More is better and leave it on and let the artist take it off. The spray helped too. After she did the lining she'd spray the spray leave it for 10 min and then spray more and leave for about 5 min. I love this stuff!! It's worth the money. The bottled lasted for all of my tattoos, I got like 6 pretty big ones.”

This is has changed the game for me. No longer am i sitting with my music cranked up to 100, grimacing during my sessions. I can actually sit and talk to my artist and enjoy the time spent on the art. It's literally painless, and i was skeptical at first but WOW.
-TELL YOUR ARTIST YOU WANT TO USE THIS! It hasn't affected any of my tattoos at all, but some artists are skeptical.
-Make sure to let it sit covered for an hour, at LEAST. (Gotta be QUICK when applying initially and have the seran wrap READY TO APPLY. I found working in small areas at a time works best if you're covering a big area!)
-It's super sticky, let your artist know this before you start. It's like tar once the ink hits it. (But sticky enough to get a stencil outline onto, so win-win if your artist is willing to try, most won't so be warned, you'll probably have to sit through the outline before you can use this stuff)”
