“I adore this product. Yes I wish the spf was a bit higher but I LOVE how it feels and that it doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin. I’ve been using this for years.
However, I had to dock one point because of the packaging- none of it seems recyclable and it seems sooooo wasteful for a green beauty company. Also the product is hard to get out when it is getting low and I have to use a beauty spatula. The bottle it comes it makes it seem like you’re getting several ounces of product but only a tiny section of the tall bottle has product in it- seems really misleading and super not environmentally friendly. The rest of the bottle has to just be thrown out entirely I really wish the packaging was “greener” or even recyclable. It would be the perfect product if so. Or maybe even have a send back to Hynt so that they can recycle? Please!!!
HYNT RESPONSE: Thank you for your comment. We are looking into more sustainable packaging which is quite difficult to obtain in the US as many companies do not offer it. We are also working with other cosmetic and skin companies to find a viable source. The current airless pump does allow for almost all of the product to be dispensed. “I LOVE this sunscreen. As an African American, I've been searching for a physical sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast on my skin for years! The Sun Prep is truly a life savior. It feels like a light moisturizer and smells heavenly. If you have dry skin l like me, you'll need to layer a moisturizer under this, especially in the winter. My only concern is that the SPF is 25 which is pretty low for me. Hynt Beauty, please make a version that is SPF 30 OR 40- I would buy them all!”
“I bought a sample of this months ago and loved it. I have rosacea and finding a natural sunscreen that doesn't either irritate my skin or leave it whited out is very hard. I spent good money on lots of other natural products and they all fell short in one way or another. It's very disheartening. Then I found this and all I can say is that i would be very sad if Hynt every stopped making it. I sincerely hope not! “A GREAT SUNSCREEN FOR WOMEN OF COLOR! If you're looking for an all natural mineral sunscreen that DOES NOT LEAVE ANY WHITE CASTE, this is the product for you! My skin tone is cafe au lait. My friends & family, whose skin tones range from sand to dark chocolate, have also used it without getting the dreaded white caste or purplish/grayish hue from using a mineral sunscreen. It feels and applies more like a silky moisturizer than a sunscreen. Immediately after applying, my skin is slightly shiny and dewy. But after a minute or so, the shine disappears leaving my skin soft & hydrated, not oily or matte. It keeps my sensitive, acne & rosacea prone, combination skin moisturized all day. It has not caused any breakouts! In fact, I think it's helped keep my skin clear! I wear this alone, under makeup, and also mixed with tinted moisturizer or liquid foundation.
