The lining cleverly hides lumps and bumps. I'm 5'11" so am adding a few inches of black silk voile to the hem even though it covers my knees as it is, I'll feel prettier with a few more inches. I contacted igigi and they were kind enough to tell me that it'd be best to add the voile to the lining and not the outer dress layer. I will add a bit of the voile to the sleeves so it ties in with the hem. Maybe a bit to the neckline, not sure about that yet. I plan to own this dress for a long time and dance in it whenever I can! “I just purchased the Francesca Dress in Black and it arrived today - about a 4 day turn around with no special delivery method. I have been watching this dress for over 5 months. I watch it and it sell out and then they re-stock it and it sells out again. So finally I decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and purchase the dress. My only hesitation was I have not had any success with purchasing dresses on-line in the past. I had my measurements in hand and I checked out the size chart and I was really skeptical because I normally wear a size 18/20, but my measurement on the size chart says for me to order a 14/16. Mind you almost all of my 18/20 dresses has to go straight to the alteration lady before I could wear them. So that was another hesitation – do I order the size the chart says or do I order at least a size larger just to be sure. So after 5 months of debating I finally did it – I ordered the dress. I don’t like returning items so this was a major deal for me – I order the size IGIGI size chart said I should order - the size 14/16. _x000D_
When the box arrived I could hardly believe it was here and I could hardly wait to try the dress on. I took the dress out the box and at first glance the dress was not that impressive to look at. But I kept thinking positive saying - you have made the right decision in buying the dress and buying the size 14/16. So I tried the dress on and BABY WOW. This dress is as Gorgeous on me as it is on the on-line model. I am a BELIEVER and I am glad I am not the one to give the Francesca Dress in Black its first bad review. I kept saying to myself over 110 reviewers cannot be wrong, so go for it and I’m glad I did. My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary on 11/30/11 and I will be wearing my new Francesca Black Dress out to dinner. This worked out so great I am searching for my next IGIGI purchase, I have a couple of things on my list, just trying to decide which one is next.
