“If it is compatible, why does the printer keep telling me to change the drum??? Shouldn't it eliminate this message? Otherwise, it appears to be doing the job.”
“Print quality is clear and plenty sufficient for solid black, though slightly less than standard on grey shaded areas. NOTE: I inserted the Drum unit without removing the plastic/protective film placed there for shipping because I failed to notice it and didn't look at the enclosed sheet (small) of instructions. I don't thing there was a "REMOVE" sticker on that area. I caused the printer to malfunction by the paper jamming. I noticed the film after removing and re-inserting the unit several times. Other than that, very satisfied for our needs... this older unit is a secondary, backup unit and the cheaper cost is worth the extended use.”

I have purchased compatible components (toner cartridges, drum units) from various companies over the years and found several to be incompatible (wouldn't fit) or unreliable (toner leaked out and filled the inside of the printer).
