Literally the only negative difference I noticed was that when a cartridge ran out, instead of saying "Yellow cartridge needing replaced" like the brother brand does, it just said "cartridge needing replaced", a little inconvienent because I would have to check ink levels on my screen before knowing which one needed replaced, but for the difference in cost, I certainly do not mind the extra little step!
