“I was unable to make a useable flare for 5/16" copper nickel brake line. I do not recommend this tool for 5/16" brake line.
Additional info...all of my attempts at flares produced very lopsided flares. I did deburr and chamfer the end of the tubing.”
“This tool does not flare tubing correctly. The flare is off center and not perpendicular to the tubing. I tried many many times on 3/16” tubing and 1/4” tubing. I will call to see about returning this item.”
“I gave this tool a 4 out of 5 because I have a high standard when it comes to tools. I'm a toolmaker by trade so I'm always looking at the quality. I think the tolerances could be tightened up a bit but it did work very well. With the overall length of the tool being short it clamped the tube very well. One locking screws swings away which is a nice feature, you don't have to unscrew the nuts very far to remove the tube once it flared.
Over the years I have collected 3 other flaring tools like this one and this one is better by far than the other ones. You can tell by the feel and the quality of the parts that it's a nice tool. If I flared tubing all the time I'd look into buying one of the more expensive ones but for the few I have done this worked well. The other 3 are going in the garbage.”
I am sorry to hear this tool gave out on you, please send a couple of pictures and a short description to support@inlinetube.com and we will work to make this right by you!
