Insect Shield Your Clothes - Easy Packs 1 Pack Reviews

4.8 Rating 164 Reviews
I’m an avid gardener and am constantly dealing with ticks. I bought some treated clothing and also sent some of my clothes in to be treated. I was able to put 3 pairs of pants, 1 pair of shorts, and 3 t-shirts (one was long sleeved) into the bag for treatment. I really got my money’s worth. So far so good—no ticks! My next step was to send some of my husband’s clothes off for treatment. We’re very satisfied.

I’m in the woods multiple times a week (and sometimes per day!) and often close to the ground photographing wildflowers. Now I can do so with the confidence that no ticks are going to crawl up my clothing and evade my naked searches like they have in the past. The flat-rate pack had more than enough room for five pairs of summer hiking pants, five shirts, four pairs of socks, and a couple of bamboo arm sleeves. I did regret not shoving more in there after IThere was a problem with one item when they were returned, and customer service was extraordinarily prompt in resolving the issue. Even before I ordered, I was telling everyone in the local hiking club about InsectShield; that’s even truer now. I love that the company provides such a professional service and that I get to wear my favorite clothing instead of having to spend much more money ordering new treated clothing. Seventy washes will be more than the life of most of my clothes!

I live in an area where I routinely get multiple ticks on my clothing every year. I usually treat with permethrin myself but it’s a repetitive hassle since I’m out in the woods almost every single day all day. And to buy pretreated clothing is a more expensive option for me since I have a lot of older clothing I can still use. Wow. I now have 4 complete outfits including socks bandanas and a hoodie all treated … enough for 2 years if the clothing holds out! What a relief. And the nicest surprise is that Insect Shield ironed labels onto my socks and sewed insect shield labels onto my clothing! This way I don’t have to keep track of which clothes were treated. And as far as shrinkage I didn’t notice much of any if at all. This may be because I sent in clothing that was already well worn and had been through many washings before. I would gladly pay $100.00 dollars not to have a disgusting dirty tick embedded in my skin any day of the week! Super impressed.

The fact that I am a repeat customer should tell you all you need to know. If you spend any amount of time outside whether it’s for work or fun it is so worth having your clothing treated by insect shield to protect you against all the various insects ticks etc.

I purchased a few things from the insect repellent site before I saw the bags . My bubble thought said “ buy the bag and send your own clothes to be treated , so I did ! The turn around for my sent items was quick !! They even tagged my items so that I can distinguish which ones are treated . Now my pretty shirts and favorite pants are treated . I’m will be doing my happy day dance when I’m walking my dog on the trails . Bug off bugs ! Btw . They also have some sweet items to protect your favorite pet . And yes, my favorite pet will have something to protect her too from the insects . Thank you insect shield . Ps . And the Customer service is the best

We bought a 3 pack for our family and mailed 1 in so far, to test how much the clothes shrink. Pros: the clothes come back neatly packed and carefully labeled by insect shield. You can fit a lot into one bag, especially for children’s clothing. Cons: some pieces of clothing shrunk considerably. It will affect the wearability of some items we sent in. Also, the clothing came back with a noticeably different feel to the fabric, sort of a filmy coated feeling. This surprised me because we have purchased items direct from insect shield that don’t feel that way. So, a mixed review. I expect they repel ticks as advertised, which is my priority and very valuable. Time will tell. We will use the remaining two bags to get other family members’ clothing treated, but going forward I think I will just buy clothing direct from insect shield.

We spend a lot of time outdoors in the woods hiking/walking on trails and performing trail maintenance. We had been treating our own clothes with permethrin, but it really never seemed to last, especially during peak tick and mosquito season in the Midwest. We decided to send in some clothes and were able to pack multiple pants, shirts, and socks into the bags. The turn-around was quick and each of the clothing articles were labeled to indicate treatment. Can't wait to try them out!

This is my second year of treating clothes. I wish I had treated more last year as it really does work. I bought my activewear on sale during the fall and spring and sent it to be treated. I am now officially ready for bug season. There is great tracking and communication with Insect Shield when the clothing is sent. Turnaround time can be a bit longer during the height of the bug season so getting the clothes treated early spring worked out really well. This year I treated more casual clothes and workout clothes to supplement what I got last year.
