This is a very easy way to get your own cloths treated. I really like the process with the easy packs. I still box up and send in some items the older way because it can pencil out a little cheaper for some quantities of larger items like pants and shirts. I’ve been sending in my own field cloths to Insect Shield for treatment for years. Many a time I’ve watched ticks drop right off, though they do crawl around for a little while first. Mosquitos, been working great for them too, even on thin garments for the tropical heat they would otherwise bite through. Nice to minimize malarial risk without all that DEET on the skin. Not sure about chiggers and scrub itch, they continue to be a problem getting around clothing edges. In my experience terrestrial leeches seem completely undeterred by permethrin treatment. This factory treatment really does seem to last for the lifetime of the garment, at least it has for me. I’ve noticed some third-party retailers making claims that the insect protection extends beyond the edge of the cloths. The mosquitos happily bite me immediately off the edge of the cloths so not sure about the utility of treated shorts and short-sleeve shirts. When mosquitos are bad, or dangerous, I use lemon eucalyptus oil when needed on neck and hands to extend protection beyond long pants and long-sleeve shirt - very strong smell but seems to work well.

I would not recommend this product. I bought an easy pack and the process shrunk all my clothes. I lost out on the cost of the new clothes that were sent to insect shield, which are completely unusable now, and the cost of the easy packs. I read the disclaimer and the tags on my clothes did not indicate there would be an issue with shrinkage based on what insect shield posted on their website. Customer service did not offer any reimbursement or coupons. I am just out the money I spent. I will never buy anything from this company again. Very disappointed.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with our Easy Packs. Our treatment does cause shrinkage, slightly more than a first wash. We also recommend washing items before sending, especially new items. A member of our team will reach out to you directly to help make things right.

We stuffed 5 packs of our clothes for our African safari. Very easy to drop off at fedex and received clothes in 2 weeks with all IS labels sewed in. We were going to have the safari camp wash our sprayed clothes, but it only last 5 washings. IS impregnates the clothes for 70 washing’s and it is worth every penny!

I would love to give this a positive review but my package was lost in the mail. Customer service could not/did not help. FedEx tracking service is useless as it does not give enough information. I suspect my pkg was delivered to the wrong address as it has been a few weeks since it went missing. I had several hundred dollars worth of clothing in that bag and there is no insurance on it. So, send clothes at your own risk.

What a concept being able to have a company that can infuse one's clothing with Permethrin for you. That pre-pack, pre-paid packaging is so easy. I found that if I folded and rolled my clothing, I could pack more items...more bang for my buck. The turn around of receiving the treated, neatly-folded and labeled clothing is timely. Bravo to Insect Shield for its ingenuity!!!

I received my bag a few days after I put my order in. I put my clothes in the bag and drop it in the FedEx store . No headache. About 2 weeks later. I receive my treated clothes. We put it on for gardening. Well protection!

I live in coastal Maine where Lyme Disease and other tick born illnesses are rampant. Insect Shield is the reason I can be outside. I have had Lyme and have no interest in contracting it again. The option of treating one's own clothing is fabulous. I have sent individual items in the past to Insect Shield and this year opted for the Easy Pack. It is EASY! Simple to use and fast. It was the most affordable way to treat our gear. This year we can once again enjoy the beautiful outdoors without stress. A side note, I wear a bandana around my neck to make sure those pesky ticks don't make it as far as my hairline and have adopted the tradition of giving new neighbors the housewarming gift of an Insect Shield scarf. A game changer.

After years of treating our clothes myself the Easy Pack is the way to go. Supposedly, it also works better (e.g., coverage and durability) than treating it myself. The timing was exactly as advertised and my clothes were returned neatly folded and just as if they were new. The only reason for four (4) stars instead of five (5) is that you get notified that the package was being returned by FedEx, but I had to call them to get the tracking number after waiting for over week, . . . so I was worried that I wasn't going to get them in time for my thru-hike, but all was good. I will definitely be using Easy Pack repeatedly for years to come.
