Insect Shield Men's Performance Ripstop Pants Dark Khaki / 30 / 32 Reviews

These pants don't do anything to keep bugs away. I have lots of mosquitoes in my yard (courtesy of neighbors who won't clean up their yards). I always wear pants in my yard, and as soon as I go outside, mosquitoes find me and land on my legs. When I tried these pants, the same thing happens. These pants do not repel mosquitoes. They land on my Insect Shield pant legs, jut the same as any other pair of pants. They don't seem to repel ticks either. I have picked numerous ticks off of these pants. Was really hoping they would work, especially for ticks. Don't waste your money on these pants or shirts. You are better off putting bug spray on your skin, and then wearing cheap pants that you can throw away after bug season.

We are sorry to hear these pants didn't function as you expected. For context, the way permethrin-treated clothing doesn't always keep an insect from landing on you, but rather when an insect encounters permethrin, it becomes paralyzed and then generally disengages, falls off, and frequently dies. It also disrupts their ability to feed.

These pants are one of my first orders from Insect Shield. The process was easy and the pants fit well--per sizing. I have yet to wear them as they were purchased for an upcoming trip. However, based on the shirts and socks I already purchased they should work well.

Well made pants and I believe the insect treatment works. These pants are rather narrow in the leg and don't have the stretch, gusseted crotch nor articulated knees that would make them flexible. I really wanted to like these but they aren't suitable for hiking or anything active. Lightweight fabric is also suprisingly warm, which I wonder may be the treatment. I swear by the socks and the IS lightweight shirt is my go to hiking shirt even when it's not that buggy out!
