We have sent our yardwork and hiking clothes off every year to Insect Shield in late winter to have them professionally permethrin them. While we also purchase permethrin spray for our less used clothing, we find the treatment of clothes very frequently worn in high-risk places has been VERY effective; have never found any ticks on us! Insect Shield has good sales and fast response/return of treated clothing. We100% recommend mailing in your clothes for this excellent months-long tick protection!

No more bites! Thank you for saving my body from pesky mosquito and chigger bites! I sent in 7 pieces of my own clothes for treatment and got them back within 10 days. Dang! Really, No more bites!!! I was able to go birding in the woods and didn't get bit! The only bite I got was on my hand- do you have gloves for sale? Seriously, this is the best thing I could have done for myself and I wish I had know about this years ago! A must have for any birder going out into nature. Will definitely re-treat my clothes when it's time. Thanks!

This was a very easy process to use, after completing the online order, I simply packed up the items and shipped them off (that was almost half the cost of the treatment). They were returned in less than a week. Easy item with a tag indicating they were treated with Insect Shield, which is a great help for sorting out clothing! I used the per piece method to treat 5 large bulky items, jeans, long hiking pants, and heavier shirts. I think this is more economical than the “fill the bag” method for bulky items. I will use this again!

I am an amateur entomologist. I often go off trail into woods and high grassy areas where small insects live, fly and jump around to collect insects. Having my bibs( farmer style overalls) treated by Insect Shield with permethrin, and wearing a permethrin treated shirt and hat has protected me very well from insect and tick bites. I highly recommend having your favorite clothing permethrin treated.

Very happy that they will do these treaments. I've been wearing insect shield clothes for about 10 years and have never gotten a tick or mosquito bite when wearing them. However, none of the ones I had fit as I'd like, so I mainly wore them for outdoor work, gardening, hiking, etc. If I went to an outdoor social event, I wore regular clothes and the socks or a scarf. After my first order, I now have (especially) pants that fit me well and look good. I will probably only get my own clothes treated in the future, and will use the previous not great fitting ones for outdoor work, gardening, etc. Plus, I like certain fabrics better than others, so I now have that choice, plus colors I like. The problem with getting a good fit is partly due buying online and having to return and pay shipping. Since they are pricey to begin with, I just kept them for the functionality Highly recommended!

After many encounters with ticks, I decided to have 4 pieces of clothing treated with Insect Shield and bought IS socks. I can now work outside in the garden and clip bushes etc., with less stress and fear of ticks and mosquitoes. The price is reasonable for the comfort I have with insect protection. The risk of Lyme disease and others is greater so treated clothing makes a world of difference. Wish I hadn’t waited so long. IS website has information to educate me about insects and the consequences for my health. Clothes return with no odor and each piece is labeled as treated. Thank you, Insect Shield!

The insect shield product works great! It took about 1 week for me to get my clothing back after I mailed them and when wear them outside I have absolutely no mosquito bites at all. The clothes don’t smell and the texture is the same. I 100% recommend having insect shield treat your clothing if you’re an outdoor person like me. Our family likes to sit on the patio in the evening and before insect shield my ankles/arms would be covered in bites no matter what we tried (backyard mosquito treatments, diffusers, candles, topical spray).

I was helping to run a week-long event in the Vermont forest, in a high tick season. We ended up having to evacuate due to record storms. The property had high grasses and many tick-risky areas. I had about a dozen permanently treated InsectShield shirts, pants, and socks. I was able to keep myself freshly and smartly dressed and deal with the terrain with confidence that i wouldn’t be a feast for ticks. The ability to protect my own clothes was key, as our event required that we wear the t-shirt and pants of the organization. I’m extremely satisfied and will use InsectShield again.
