“If you did not know that the hat was treated with insect repellent, you could not tell by the feel or the smell, as both are "normal". I wore it traveling through Tanzania, Africa while on safari and while doing yardwork in northern Floridia in the summer and was not the least bothered by mosquitoes or tsetse flies. It is soft, comfortable, stylish, and does a good job keeping the sun off your face and neck. It's a little heavy and could be a little more breathable. Also, just to emphasize the marketing, it is not particularly foldable, pliable, or packable (they sell another hat that apparently is). Overall, a fine, sturdy hat as long as you know you are not getting a light, foldable hat. I would recommend.”
“Good size provides partial protection for my neck the only thing is the hat has couple of stickers on the top and on the side that when I took it off or probably sweat during mt use of it stained the hat with dark colored brown stain which I stayed after laundering.”

“This is my second brim hat. I bought the khaki color last year. The brim is just the right width, and the circumference is adjustable. It has a neck strap if it’s windy. AND, it repels gnats which gather at your highest point. What could be better?”
