I have been working outdoors since I could remember. I currently work as a land surveyor and spend a lot of time in the woods / swamps. Every spring / summer I would come home with chigger bites through my pants & high socks. I would spray unhealthy amounts of permethrin all over my pants / boots / socks. Ever since I have bought these lightweight hiker socks I haven't been bit by a single chigger. I thought I should buy medium weight because of how badly I get bit but it gets really hot here in South Carolina so I went with the light weight hiker socks and I do not regret my decision. I have wore them for miles through swampy woods and washed them countless times! They still fit perfect and don't slide down under my foot after a few uses like most of my other "hiking socks". They are just as effective now as when I first opened them! I only bought two pairs at first because I was skeptical but now I want a pair for every day of the week! I have told all my co-workers and friends who work or spend time in the woods / swamp! Try these socks! They are awesome!

Great fitting socks. Can’t say I’ve tested the tick protection, but I also haven’t found any ticks on me while wearing these.

After the first washing I noticed the color had washed out on one sock only. I used light cycle cold water and dried on low. the other sock was perfect no problem at all. The socks are very comfortable and they are priced right therefore i would buy more if it wasn't for this problem

FYI to thru-hikers, these socks did not last 75 miles NOBO on the Appalachian Trail before they developed holes. Better off buying Darn Tough and sending into Insect Shield for treatment.
