“I had undiagnosed Lymes for many years. So I’m taking the intellectual approach and using an effective deterrent . I watched some very kamakazi ants try to walk past the line I put as boarder on my ground cover around my tent, they would take runs at it and fail to pass it. Used my second bottle and very happy big able to sleep in bugging conditions. Alway have some on me, in case I camp at a place that has a lot of pests.”
“The product definitely made a difference. One can covered 3 hats, 1 shirt, 2 pair of socks, and 1 pair of gym shoes. My daughter also wore 1 pair of Insect Shield infused pants from ExOfficio and slept in a Sea to Summit Insect Shield CoolMax Adaptor sleeping bag liner. She used these items on a 7 day kayak trip on Lake Huron in Ontario, 2 days of which poured rain.
I would have to say the product worked because she had no ticks and she did notice that mosquitos and black flies approached but did not land on her. In fact, she had the fewest amount of bites of the 15 traveling in the group (she did not wear the protected clothing 100% of the time). At least one friend will be buying her own Insect Shield products for another trip later this summer!”
“I have used your permethrin spray for my shoes that I wear outside. So far they are keeping me free of ticks and chiggers. Glad to have this product here in Arkansas where we have an abundance of bugs that bite.”
“I was so disappointed when one of my Insect Shield canisters petered out on me, midway through treating 7 pieces of clothing. The product is good - there just wasn't enough propellant for me to use all the contents. Second canister was great, down to the last drop. So I know it's not a problem with my finger action - but you might check consistency of the company filling your canisters.
Any chance I can get a replacement canister?”
“I spend a lot of time out photographing birds and other wildlife in the Idaho mountains, sage steppe and riparian areas wandering through areas ticks love. I have Insect Shield shirts, pants hats and buff and spraying my boots and gaiters finishes off my protection from head to toe :-)”
“I used the spray on clothing for 3-D archery courses in heavily wooded terrain. Before using the product, I used standard repellent on skin only, and was bitten through clothing. With the treated clothes and repellent- my bug shields were UP! I could focus on my shots, not the insects.”
“Not sure what I can add to the other reviews, but if you don’t spray your clothes and gear with this stuff, and aren’t wearing other Insect Shield clothing, the bugs will find ways to make your life miserable. If you do, then they literally bounce off of you, and you can laugh at them instead of suffering through them. I’m planning to keep a stock of this stuff with me at all times. Well worth it.”
