“I would definitely have given Mirabella a five star if it wasn’t for the mosquito infestation which left my eight-year-old grandson looking like he had the chickenpox after one day. We all ended up with mosquito bites all over our bodies even though we had multiple different types of sprays and there were some type of mosquito catchers and swatters in the Villa but it didn’t help. My family recommends that they spray on the perimeter of the entire property once a month through mosquito season. We do that here on Long Island in New York and it helps tremendously. Also a few of us fell off the steps( none drinkers) leading down to the pool multiple times. You can’t tell the difference from one level to the other because it’s the same color with no railings. That should be addressed as well but besides those two factors it was an amazing place to stay!! I was going to plan another trip with friends but I can’t unless the mosquito situation and step issues are addressed. Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to give you some feedback.”

Good day Patricia, Thank you for your review. Reviews such as yours are highly helpful in allowing us to address shortcomings and optimize the guest experience. We are disappointed to hear about the mosquito situation. We could have certainly mitigated the issue had we known about it. The villa is not usually affected by mosquitos due to the tradewinds coming off the lagoon. The villa should have a mosquito trapping system that tends to be highly effective. If that failed, then we can certainly arrange for a complimentary spraying of the villa that would have addressed the problem. We have provided your feedback to the property manager to address and make improvements on. “Beautiful facility, great views, and recently renovated, an awesome place. Our only concern: the mosquitos. Given the open design, there's no escaping them, unless you retreat to a closed bedroom. Thought might be given to some sort of screening that one could pull shut like the shutters (we tried lots of bug spray etc, but to no avail).”

“Better than the pictures. The services was excellent but the place truly unbelievable. The beach is a 2-3 minute walk from the house.”
