“The grounds are well kept and there are a few various animals on the property, such as a large crab, land turtle, and many lizards(?). We loved being able to take a short walk to the beach and then return to the pool/house as the kids tired out. Plum Bay is mostly rocky, but there are a few good spots to swim and snorkel. Watching the sunset nightly was great, especially while eating dinner from the rooftop table. Traveling with two families of four, the eight of us really enjoyed the private property. The rooms are situated well for that purpose, as we had four children aged 3-9. The rooms are very quiet, which was a pleasant surprise and we all slept well on the beds. Most noise will come from the wooden doors that open to the patios but we never had any issues. The air conditioners all worked well in addition to the fans, but most of the remotes were hard to figure out (you can choose full blast or off, seemingly). I'll note that none of the bathrooms have A/C, and the master bathroom was very hot for most of the day/night. A new clothes washer was delivered during our stay, tiny but great. For the towels and sheets alone, the owners should've opted for a larger size in addition to a new dryer. Generally, we really enjoyed the property and would certainly consider returning. In my opinion, the pictures online specific to the pool area and kitchen don't fully capture either space. The pool was much larger than I expected and the patio area surrounding it is expansive. The kitchen 'table' is larger than it looks online, but still small for any more than four adults. We mostly used the outdoor dining table, under the fan it worked well for us. We also used the gas grill. The 5th bedroom area was not used daily, but we were able to use the space for massages one morning and it was perfect. The negatives; there are many exterior doors, some open and some don't. It was a riddle for a few days, I wish usable doors were better marked or more obvious. One of the doors in the common area with the tv does not lock, and the wooden doorstops were insufficient. I rigged a lock up each night to secure it, but it needs to be addressed. Nearly every screen has holes in it, so we were weary to open most windows/doors. If you did in the bathroom to cool it down, you invited many mosquitos in. We're a family well versed in the kitchen-that stove top and oven are so outdated and terrible, making meals was very challenging. This would probably be a big reason we wouldn't return-it took too long to make meals. The house keeper was uninspired at best. We're respectful of all related staff and clean up well after ourselves-but we did more work than she did other than our last morning on the property. She completed the bare minimum tasks, perhaps our expectations were too high though. She does cram every towel and sheet capable of fitting in the washer-I questioned the cleanliness of the items when I realized it while taking clothes down to wash. Shelves, bins, or something similar should be installed to raise laundry off the floor and tops of washer/dryer. Lastly; in the basement/storage area, there are water leaks that should be inspected and addressed. In addition, the amount of cockroaches and other bugs down there with laundry piled on the floor is alarming. I'm well versed in international travel, it should not be acceptable at a residence such as this.”
