“The directions were adequate. Do pull the battery box (L side) and air box (R side). Air box is held by rubber bushings. No bolts. You don't have to pull the inner fender. Pull it straight up. You may need to squirt some wd40 on the bushings. You don't need to pull the cruise control. For those of us DIY that don't do this everyday I would add.
(This was on a 2006. I don't care that some say 2002 to 2006 are the same. Nope. 2002-2005 are the same. 2006 & 2007 are the same. )
If you are going to replace your starter do it at the same time. While you have the front drive shaft and starter out, the rear A-frame bolt is very accessible.
(Don't do as the YouTubbers say. Do drop the drive shaft. Takes about 10 min to get it out of the way. Remove the 12 bolts. Collapse the drive shaft. Push rear up. Front down. Pull out the front) )
The bushing are very snug in the wells. Grease the side of the wells to help get it in there. Also using a mallet does not work. Use some wooden wedges to push and hold the bushings in place to slip the bolt in.
Left side took me a hour to get the holes lined up. Right side was 10 mins.
Use a long wobble 1/2" extension/ ratchet to remove/install the nuts on the both rear bolts. Nuts should be on the front side.
Make sure the bolt lock tab on the front bolt is in the right position as you slid it in. Or it will smash your brake lines as you tighten it.
You are going to need a 90 degree grease fitting on your grease gun to grease bushings. Or BEFORE putting the balljoint in the yoke, push the A-frame down as far as you can to get a straight shot at the zerk.
Note: I was doing this all by myself.”
“My 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD's new JBA Offroad UCA's are very high quality, and I am proud to have them on my little red diesel Jeep! Thank you JBA for caring so much about quality!!! Keep making super high quality parts for our dream machines!! :)”
“Struggled a bit to slid the arm into pockets due to too tight bushing clearance but could’ve dealt with plenty of grease and force.
Arm itself seemed to be very decent quality. Haven’t tested on fields yet but expecting to produce good performance.
Overall satisfied.”
