I was looking for something to prepare quickly, because i often have no time for breakfast. And my target was to eat more. I had struggles to gain weight for years. So I compared all the companies which offers those meals to drink. (huel, mana,...) my decision fell for jimmyjoy. and im happy with my decision. it took me some time to find jimmyjoy by google for some alternate meals like huel. jimmyjoy is not that present in germany. and i wasnt sure if they deliver to germany, but they do. J The delivery by DPD was a nightmare, i waited almost a week and had no delivery informations till it arrived in a pick up store. I hope jimmyjoy changes to UPS or DHL in future. DPD has 0.4 !!! stars on trustpilot. So I ordered 45 Meals in a subscription with the plan to eat 1 per day and 2 per day when i am going to the gym. 1 shake before and 1 after Workout. I also ordered a bag of pure whey protein to add it to my shake. 1 scoop of 30g in everydays shake and on gym days i add 2 scoops in every shake. its about 2 weeks now and i definately see a difference, it helps me a lot better to gain weight and muscles than those more expensive protein shakes, where you dont even know what they really put inside, because they dont have to declare all of the ingredients... here is my ranking of the taste from the shakes from best to worse: -coffee -chocolate -strawberry -banana -vanilla Im also using only Milk (250ml), because it doesnt taste that good with water and i like it more creamy than watery. Coffee is my favourite at work when mixed with 50ml of espresso and 200ml Milk. It tastes like iced coffee! with chocolate i tried 100ml chocolate milk and 150ml Milk too. Its just like a chocolate shake like expected, but great of course. strawberry is just fine, tastes like strawberry milkshake. gonna try some recipes with it in future. the worst yet was vanilla, i dont know but i just dont like the taste of it, it doesnt taste like real vanilla, but its intense though. With the first vanilla shake i tried to add 2 spoons of natural peanutbutter. trust me... dont try it. it tasted like vomit smells. So im looking for a baking recipe to have a good use for the vanilla i think. I wondered about the bags that they "only" have 481g inside instead of 500. it says add 2 scoops per meal. 1 scoop = 50g. a bag has 5 meals. so it should be 500g? But yes i definately will keep on drinking it. and of course try some more recipes! (which hopefully doesnt taste like the vanilla with peanutbutter).

I really love the shakes, they are easy and give a satisfied feeling. Taste needs some getting used to due to the fibers, but is very good. I expected the drinks to be similar, but they did not taste as good as the shakes, which was a disappointment. I haven't tried the twenny bar yet. I hope the taste of the plenny drinks will improve!

Overall taste i though was just ok. Unfortunatly the shakes they sent are all a month past expiration date so that may play into the just ok taste. Nobars were sent due to the stock issue and the shakes well all outdated wife wont even try the shake. The powder is good i like that alot but the overall experience with delivery and products sent we were quite dissapointed. Thank you for reading and have a Great day. JM

The website advertised the starter box as 28 meals, which I thought would mean all the food I need for 28 days (because I was looking for something I could eat every day, covering all my needs). Of course in reality, each meal only covers 1/5 of daily requirements. After some more research, it seems it's meant to be used with ~3-5 meals per day, so the starter box would only cover about a week of food. 54 euros/week is a bit much. Even buying with the bulk and subscriptions discount, I'm not sure it would be cheaper than normal food&cooking. It does save time of course. Still, aside from that, it tastes good. I still haven't tried the plenny shakes, but the drinks and bars taste good.

This box is an excellent way to get introduced to Jimmy Joy. I use this for breakfast and lunch. If I want an easy and quick meal, I’ll make a shake. Feel more like eating, I’ll have a bar. In a rush or want to quickly refuel after a workout, I’ll have a Plenny Drink. In terms of taste, I would say they’re all fine. The shakes taste good even with water, usually if you mix regular protein powder with water, it’s just gross, but this works really well. The bars are not too sweet and not dry at all. The Plenny Drink tasted like cardboard the first sip, but transitioned into a very nice vanilla taste. Summarized: healthy, easy, well priced and nice tasting. Will buy again!

While tastes and consumability are ok, with the exception of the vanilla bars that are WAY too sweet, both drinks and the bars are not what I expect of meal replacement products. This I need to clarify of course: Starting with the Plenny Drinks: these are basically water with a lot of maltodextrine. This is far from suitable for any nutritional quality. The Plenny Shake (small bags) is a little better, but still nearly all of the carbohydrates come from maltodextrine. I hear the new composition found in the „big bags“ is better and contains no maltodextrine or isomaltulose, but it is not available in the starter box that I ordered to try Jimmy Joy. Finally the Twenny Bars. I find these to be too big and containing too many calories. If you see a bar as a whole meal, then this is suitable, but I would guess most people, myself included, will use bars as a snack. Furthermore I find the composition suboptimal and both chocolate and especially vanilla are too sweet. In conclusion, I find other meal replacement products more suitable for my needs and quality expectations. It is not the nutritional values that „on paper“ seem ok, its the source of the nutrients and the glycemic index and glycemic load of the product. Especially the massive use of maltodextrin as a cheap carbohydrate with a very high GI is a very bad idea. However, these are also more expensive and often come in fewer taste varieties.

With the starter pack, i could try each type of product and see wich one i would see me using frequently or not. There is more than enough for several days or weeks and the price is very attractive while choosing between brands.
