“This is my new go-to JJ product; I recently switched over from the Plenny Shake Active. I prefer the nutritional balance of the Big Bag and Active products to other JJ products, and I prefer the relative reduction of packaging waste for the Big Bag over Active. I know other reviewers have been wishing for the Big Bag to get smaller or start including animal products in its formula. But for me, the facts that this product is plant-based and makes some attempt at waste reduction are its charm points, and I would not continue to buy it if either changed.”
“I have been struggling with gaining weight because of work and other things lately. Needing to eat ~3k-3.5k calories a day is quite some... Thanks to JimmyJoy this is a lot easier and slowly going the right direction again! The taste is a bit different than the other ones, because of no added sugar, but nothing I really dislike!”
“Definitely a good shake since the maltodextrin is out. Sadly, there is so much soy in it. That means extra fyto-oestrogen. Replacing the soy protein with whey would be so great.”
“The balance of macro nutrients in this one is much move favorable among lifters and diet-aware (ok, picky) consumers such as myself. The high protein-to-calorie count and a nicer carb-to-fat ratio is a warm welcome. Call me crazy if you must, but I'd appreciate an even more extreme ratio (I'm in favor of the Leangains Method). An additional protein source could be in order. Personally, I still supplement my (B.I.G. Bag) shakes with casein to get to where I want to be macro-wise. All things considered, I'm sure most lifters will be impressed by this formula!
I've always valued the smaller one-day bags as one of JimmyJoy's strongest selling-points. I still do. I'd very much like to see the usual daily bags but with this recipe! Until then, I'm considering to re-package into daily bags myself... I'd pay to have that done, just saying. ;)
Overall: This is a welcome move towards perfection! Sleep, lift, shake, repeat. <3”
“It certainly provides nutrition, which is the important thing.
The latest formulation is definitely easier to mix, but kind of boring. It tastes mildly like banana and isn't sickly sweet. It's innocuous enough, but that's about all that can be said for it: it really has no texture to speak of. It would be nice to have a variety of flavours, but for now there's just banana, so… hope you like banana!”
