This gorgeous men’s half-face Venetian mask has been beautifully handmade in Venice using a traditional papier mâché technique to create this simple yet refined traditional Colombina.
The papier mâché technique involves layering damp strips of paper that have been soaked in polyvinyl acetate onto a handmade plaster cast, that is then carefully sanded to achieve a smooth surface to apply the wonderful decoration.
The decoration consists of beautiful raised swirls, coated with gold leaf overlay, acrylic paints and snippets of musical notes throughout and finished with a gold braided edge.
Vivian Music Gold masks are secured in place using silk ribbon ties, although you can order them mounted onto a decorated stick, and come in a choice of black, gold, blue and red coloured finishes.
