The Gripple Key is used to Release or Adjust wire on the Gripple Plus: Small, Medium, Large, T-Clip 1 and T-Clip 2.
Insert key tip into small hole on wire entry side. If wire is under tension or has been previously installed a torque tool may be needed to release roller grip. Gently pushing key tip inward the ceramic roller rotates backward thus releasing grip on wire. When key is removed an internal spring will push ceramic roller back forward.
Torque Tools: Basic ( TGTTP ) / Heavy Duty ( TGTCC ) / Contractor ( TGTC )

“Handy to use but works best if you spray a little lubricant on the entry points where the wire goes into the connectors to loosen them up a bit. Also moving the connector forward disengages the lock when using the key.”

Thank you for your 5-star review, Jeremy. Gripple Keys are a must have if Gripples are being used anywhere on the project. You're tips are spot on. Using the Gripple tool to add a little bit of tension and lessen the bite while the key is inserted makes it a lot easier to use.

“absolutely great for moving the gripple backward before tensioning. I'm going to try using the tensioning tool to take pressure off the ceramic roller, and, using my 3rd and 4th arms, see if I can get a line that is already tight to loosen up. don't bother trying this on already tight line. It bends quite easily.”
