The open tap crimp sleeve is good for making permanent electrical connections on 12½ ga and 14 ga wire smooth wire. The advantage of this sleeve is the open side that allows for installation after wire has been tensioned. Do not use it for connections requiring strength. A crimping tool ( Crimp Tools ) is normally used to compress the open tap sleeve using the slot marked 3-4. If you need a removable electrical connection consider a ( Split Bolt Line Tap ).

“When they were sent I was not quite sure of were to use them but salesman Gary suggested them for electrical connections instead of just using split bolts. These are great, they save time, look very clean and make a solid connection.”
