Our Spring Gate has a large diameter spring (similar to a slinky) that expands to 14 ft. (also available to 24ft) then retracts to two feet when the gate is open. Each gate comes complete with a nonslip handle, two end insulators and a hookup system for connecting to the electric wire.

“On a positive note, the spring portion of the gate is tightly coiled and the spring is a good length for our farm gates. On the negative side the plastic is cheap specifically the plastic pin will most likely fail within a year and have to be replaced. In addition, the plastic handles are cheap. All in all, pick another brand of spring gate.”
