I like these because they are well designed and easy to use. The only negative is they break easily when a horse gets tangled in the tape but maybe that's to protect the animal.

Great for joining two tapes together so that they don't spark. ONLY complaints are that they are for a round post and you can't over tighten them on a square (2" plastic over metal "U" posts) without breaking the mounts and they get brittle after 4-5 years in the sun.

I really like how these have threaded pins that screw into the insulator instead of plastic pins with wing nuts - they seem much more durable and are easier to use. The tape fits through them just fine and they screw nice and tight so you can put some tension on the tape. The only down side is they are a wee bit narrower than my last ones so the metal plates I used for splicing don't fit in the slot. Kencove may carry ones that do (I didn't look, assuming mine would work.)

I initially thought these tensioners would be really great despite the fact it is really easy to loose a screw. Unfortunately they are really, really easily broken. Only a couple of months after I first bought them I had my first broken off tensioner. Five years later not a single tensioner out of a dozen remain unbroken. I can only think that they are made out of a cheaper plastic than other products used on the same posts which have not broken at all. They broke in different ways, some screws broke, some of the ears that screw to the post broke.
