This Hayes-style tightener has a stainless-steel strap and spring wire, and a zinc cog. The catch is made with a stainless-steel, spring-action wire. These strainers are virtually rustproof and will last a lifetime. Permanently hinged, flipper-type catch. Has a spring to hold the latch-flipper tight against the cog spool.

“Very tough wire tightener. I made the mistake, once, of buying tighteners from Tractor Supply and they frequently would deform under tension and fall apart. These tighteners from Kencove, are very stout and since they are made of stainless steel, they should last practically forever. Worth the price.”
