Kencovefts Staple Starter is very simple to use and has no moving parts to damage. Just insert the staple into the slot and hammer on the pin to get your staple started. Saves your fingers and prevents staples from mushrooming when driving into hardwoods.Once the staple is started, remove the starter. A few additional hammer strokes may be required to set the staple to proper depth.Remember, do not staple wire tight to line posts. Use this staple starter with standard fence staples up to 8 gauge and the wide staple starter (TDSDW) when using wide 2in staples (HB2W).

Have used these for years, until they were borrowed and not returned. Saves big time on the fingers and makes the stapling job easier and faster

For putting stables in a fence post it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Thank you for your 5-star review, John! The Staple Starter is such a simple and overlooked tool but it is very helpful. It makes staple driving a breeze, and makes those hard-to-reach staples easier to drive. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review!

I have a bad history starting staples in fence posts, if only my finger and thumb could talk (hope the children can't hear them). I tried this staple starter as soon as it arrived from Kencove...I love it! It may take a few seconds more but straight starts and no more bruised digits will be a blessing. I will see how it holds up in the next few weeks when I put up 12 acres of horse pasture. Thank you Kencove.

Thank you for your 5-star review, Lyman! We're happy to help keep your fingers healthy and whole. Some people roll their eyes at the thought of a staple starter tool, but once you use it, you realize it's useful for several things. It's great for protecting your fingers, containing staples and preventing fly away staples (that always find their way into a tire), and aiding in staple placement in low or hard to reach places. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback!

It’s the 3rd one I’ve had to buy. The concept/ design is wonderful. Sadly the quality of the metal and the build is terrible. There is no reason why it couldn’t/ shouldn’t last for a number of years. Rather than a few hundred staples. Sorry!!!

This product is good for those of us that are tired of smashing our fingers when we are putting in fencing staples. I found that if the staple got stuck in the driver its because it's too wide at the bottom. I just use the hammer to make the ends of the staple come closer together, then it works great!
