“We used this extensively this weekend. Our fence is now tight and hot, all the sections are live and the crimps are good. I had some difficulty positioning the jaws when the fence was high and the handles had to be spread very wide to get the jaws over the crimp. But the results are just what we need to make the fence and the connections tight and solid.”
“Only problem I had was that it kept breaking crimp sleeves but I adjusted it and it worked great after that. I would advise testing it out on a few sleeves before starting a large project so you can make adjustments.”
“I needed it to crimp some 14 ga HT wire and the reason I bought from Kencove was the note that they had tried crimps with each tool to test the tool. Other companies did not do that and I hope that it is ready to work. We'll find out pretty soon.”
“Out of the box: (haven't even used it yet) Very hard to open wide enough to get it to fit over the crimp sleeve. One bolt which attaches the crimper head to the handle was not tightened at the factory. Rubber cover on handle is already split and will fall off the first time it is used. Fit between bolts/ handle/ head very loose and wobbly. Overall very poor craftsmanship, design, and quality control.”
“Now keep in mind I just got this tool and have only crimped about 40 or so sleeves. I'm hoping with some use it will improve but as of now when the handles are open all the way it's so stiff I can barely get them to start closing to make a crimp. Once they start to move it's not that bad, it's just getting them started. Other than that I'm very pleased with the work they do. Very nice, neat crimps. I think it will not only save me time but will also make my fence work look better without all the twisted wire at the ends. As of right now I'm happy with my purchase.”
