Might be good for regular wire but I purchased it to use with the speed brace system as it was recommended as an option. The plastic teeth juts slip on the wire rope of the speed brace do better use metal teeth please

Hi Brian, we're sorry to hear about your experience with the Gripple Torque Tool. Sometimes lubricating oil from the wire manufacturer causes slippage with those plastic teeth. If you are interested in either the Kencove tool or the Gripple Contractor tool (both with metal teeth), our Sales Manager has offered $40 off your purchase price. Feel free to call in to our Product Specialists to claim that discount if you are interested. Thank you for bringing that to our attention!

New tool, new design. Much easier to use than the old metal tool that was standard with the first generation Gripples. Light weight but strong and the tension setting feature is pretty neat too.

They work well, though after a few uses I had to push the jaws up manually to get a bite on the cable.
