210 KSI High-Tensile Smooth Electric Fence Wire, 16 Gauge - 3,000' Coil Reviews

16 gauge high-tensile wire makes it possible to build subdivision fences quickly and at a low cost. This wire will take over 10 years of abuse with minimal maintenance. The end and corner posts do not need to be braced because this wire acts as a lightweight rubber band. Since less weight is suspended, less tension is required. Light ⅜" - 1½" fiberglass rod posts can be used for the majority of the line posts. Wood posts or t-posts should be used at ends and corners. This wire is more of a psychological barrier rather than a physical barrier, so it needs to be electrified. Coils fit a standard spinning jenny, which may also be used to rewind the wire. If rewinding, use the largest diameter on your jenny.

I've been using 16 gauge spider wire for several years. I use it with G springs, plugs and inserts, along with a tension spring and attach it to 3/8 fiberglass posts with a metal u clip. My ranch is rough and rocky and the smaller posts and wire are much easier to deal with and very flexible allowing deer and elk to get thru it without tearing it up. Also I use only a 4" top x 6.5' wood post buried 3' for the end post, which really saves on labor. I graze sheep and cattle, so two wires are put up. I probably have over 15 miles of this fence. I do replace several 3/8 posts each year that break at ground level. I use kiwi poly wire to make subdivisions when needed.
