“A classic Islay malt from one of the most well-known distilleries in Scotland.
This is one of the few iterations of a peated whisky that I keep stocked in the whisky cabinet.
Not an overly smoky peat but also not for the beginner Islay enthusiast.
It's pretty versatile for cooking as well as it imparts a smoky sweetness and a theatric flambe effect with the smallest dash on a hot pan.
A classic dram.”
“Lagavulin 16 is a legend. A simply outstanding single malt whisky which is both superbly peaty and yet amazingly smooth. At around $200 a bottle from some vendors it is sadly becoming less accessible.”
