“Mercifully you only need to set up the device once. It's a bit counterintuitive as confirming your selections is done by pressing the center button once, twice or three times, depending on which function you're configuring. If you mess something up, you have to go through all settings again because there is no menu. It would be great to be able to configure the device in the app, with a more user friendly interface. I can't help thinking that the current config setup is pretty archaic, so I deducted one star for that.
Apart from that, it works as advertised. I was already familiar with similar devices (for monitoring blood glucose and uric acid), so using the lancet and test strips is really straightforward. This ketone meter gives me an easy and fast way to check my blood ketones, and I like not having to do guesswork about my level of ketosis. As far as I can tell, the data it delivers is as accurate as I need it to be for my purposes. I used to use ketone urine strips (incredibly cheap and fast to use), but when you've been on a ketogenic diet for a longer time, those don't give you accurate readings anymore.”
