“I like using my 3 year old meter. Yes, they offer a deal to upgrade but then I own duplicate equipment or obsolete junk (case, lancet device, lancets, bluetooth hookup.)
I don't need any more stuff for the dumpster. So I'll just keep using it until it dies.
I also find uses for the little canisters that remind me of film in the old days. I never need to throw those out. Now that I know I can always find strips elsewhere, too, I'm not worried about keeping my TD-4879.
Keeping an eye on my GKI is the goal and I do it about 4-5 months out of every year.”
